In this tutorial I think we’ll add a side skirt to the side of this Mazda 6 Estate.

I have managed to find a nice angle donor car from seriouswheels.com. The donor car is a Buick Lucerne.

Grab the Polygon Lasso tool (L) and draw closely around the edges of it. Once you have gone around the skirt in a full loop, the selection will be complete (hashed line like left). Then copy it, using the CTRL+C command.

Paste it (CTRL+V Command) onto the car you are modifying and then press CTRL+T to begin skewing it and altering it until it fits the car perfectly…

… kinda like this! However, as you can see, this is a rather bad colour match.
If you are in the same situation, then now is the time to adjust the hue/saturation of the skirt.
Go to Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation. Adjusting the Hue “slider” will change the colour of the skirt. Adjusting the Saturation “slider” will change the intensity of the colour of the skirt.
There is also a brightness adjustment on there, should you need to make the skirt lighter or darker.

There we go! All it needs now is lowering slightly and a set of wheels!
