Photoshop Tutorial: Grafitti art on wall

Are you facinated by the paintings made on walls by spray paints and do you want to create the same effect in your work….. It is very simple and can be created by using few filters and blending modes provided in photoshop….

step 1

First of all find a reference image. Here I hav used a wall paper from the movie ‘Main hoon na’.
Open the image in photoshop.

step 2

Now copy the portion of the image you want in a new layer and off the visibility of the background layer.

step 3

Now trace the outline of the image on a new layer either with a hard edged brush or pen tool, whichever way you are comfortable in.

step 4

Now copy this layer ( Ctrl J).
Now press Ctrl T, right click and click on flip horizontal.

step 5

Now align the above layer as shown in the image.

step 6

Now make a new layer (Shift Ctrl Alt N) and fill this new layer with brown colour. Here I have used #614931. Now we have to give this layer the look of a brick wall. Go to Filters > Texure > Texurizer and fill the following values:
Texture = brick
Scaling = 142%
Relief = 4
Light = Top Left

step 7

Create a new layer, fill in black colour and change the blending option to Hue.

step 8

Bring the outline layer to the top and make a new layer below it. Now fill in the colour in this layer within the outlines with hadr brush. Here I have used #a0cb67.

step 9

Now apply layer Mask to this layer and use soft round brush with 10% opacity and paint on the areas where you want to show depth with black colour.
Now click on the outlines layer while pressing down the Ctrl key to select the lines. Now go to the Layer mask thumbnail and fill in black colour.

step 10

Now paint the portion of mouth and eyes with white colour on a new layer and give details in eyes with black outline and a black circle in the middle.

step 11

Make the lips in red colour and switch off the visibility of the outline layer.

step 12

Now take a soft round brush and paint the words ‘CRAZY COOL’ with #89e9ea on a new layer.

step 13

Now change the blending option of the crazy cool layer to difference.

step 14

And here is the finished image…..
